President Rodrigo Duterte is not the only world leader who watched the match of Senator Manny Pacquiao against Lucas Matthysse.
In a rare circumstance, two leaders of their respective countries visited Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to watch the historic boxing fight.
Aside from Duterte, Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad also watched the game, and it was seen sitting beside the Filipino President.

People expected that only Duterte would watch the fight, but many were shocked that Prime Minister Mahathir accompanied the Filipino President.
Mahathir who came back to power in May 2018 after defeating Najib Razak was scheduled to talk with Duterte today.
They would discuss how Malaysia and Philippines would improve fighting terrorism and piracy.
“It will have to do something definitely with terrorism and piracy, law and order,” Duterte told reporters in Clark, Pampanga.”
Both leaders are known for their “tough” image. They’re also both focused in fighting corruption in their country.
After the match, President Rodrigo Duterte congratulated Senator Manny Pacquiao for his new world title.
“I would like to congratulate Senator Manny Pacquiao for giving us pride and bringing the Filipino nation together once more,” Duterte said in his Facebook post.
“You have proven time and again that you are not just a public servant, but one of the greatest boxers of all time. This win will surely cement, yet again, your position and legacy in boxing’s Hall of Fame. May you continue to inspire Filipinos not only in boxing but also in the public service.” he added.
Aside from Duterte and Mahathir, Senate President Tito Sotto, BuCor Chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa and former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson also watched the match.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao expressed his gratefulness that Duterte and Mahathir both watched his fight personally.
Pacquiao won against Matthysse via TKO during the 7th round of the match.
