Mocha Uson lectures the Church Leaders: “Kung gusto niyong magsisi si Pangulong Duterte, bakit di niyo siya pakitaan ng mabuti?

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson addressed the church leaders in her Philippine Star Article on July 3, 2018.

Church leaders became a vocal critic of President Rodrigo Duterte after the latter criticized God and some accounts in the Bible like the book of Genesis and the original sins of the mankind.

In her article Uson, who’s a Christian, clarified that she didn’t write the article to prove that Duterte didn’t commit a sin against God.

Uson said that she doesn’t want to argue with the Church leaders about the statements of President Duterte, but she wanted to reveal some insights to those people who chose to refuse God because of what the Church Leaders committed.

“Before I digress, let me just make myself clear: I AM NOT SAYING THAT THE PRESIDENT DID NOT COMMIT A SIN AGAINST “GOD.” I am not saying what he did was right. But since they are so quick to judge, let us also get answers from what these people (and to others also practicing the Christian faith) believe in – the Bible. This is not to argue with them, but rather to hopefully shed light to those who now refuse to believe in God or Jesus mainly because of what some of these “church leaders” portray.”, Mocha said.

She lectured the church leaders who criticized President Duterte with some bible verses and reminded them that Jesus Christ went to Earth, not to judge the humanity but to save them from their sins.

“According to John 3:17, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” Mocha reiterated.

“It is clear that Jesus Christ took to human form not to judge the man, nor to point out that we are sinners. Rather, he came to earth to save us from sin.”, Mocha added.

Uson pointed out that if they really care about the country, they should pray for the Philippines and for the President instead of criticizing her statements, because Jesus Christ didn’t condemn the sinners, instead he convinced them to believe in God.

“I have this message to our church leaders: if you love our country, then pray for it. Pray for our President and not condemn him. The Lord Jesus Christ, whom you preach to your followers, did not come to earth to condemn mankind for his sins, so who are you to condemn sinners?”, Asec. Mocha remarked.

She challenged the Church leaders that if they want Duterte to ask forgiveness to God, they should show kindness to the President to convince him to repent.

“If you want President Duterte to repent – if you think he committed sin, then why don’t you show him compassion and kindness? It is according to Romans 2:4, “God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance.” Ms. Uson ended.
