Journalist Erwin Tulfo slammed opposition senators Bam Aquino and Francis Pangilinan for quickly releasing a statement which accusing the Duterte government of killing former Tanauan City Mayor Antonio C. Halili just hours after a sniper has assassinated the politician.
Yesterday, General Tinio Mayor Ferdinand Bote has also been killed by a gunman and the opposition gave a hint that the government might also behind the killing of the said politician.
Tulfo thinks that the opposition senators are already insane that they quickly judged the assassination of the two mayors as an extrajudicial killing despite the authorities’ investigation is not yet finished.
The journalist also pointed out the old interview of Halili, saying that the Tanauan City Mayor started to receive death threats after he decided to leave Liberal Party, the former ruling party during the Aquino administration.
Tulfo believes that Halili made too much enemy during his campaign against criminality.
He’s also looking at the angle that the murder of Halili was politically motivated because the election period is near.
Tulfo urged Pangilinan to fix the juvenile law which the senator crafted because it made the situation worse.
“Sana mabiktima ka ng mga batang kriminal na ito para maramdaman mo!” Tulfo said.
